My Next Story

Here's the inspiration for my next story. This is a real portrait of a countess and her daughter painted around 1760. The girl elopes (gasp!) with an army officer and has three children. Their only boy is a baron, Lord Grey, who is a friend of Lord Byron, the poet. Lord Grey even leases Lord Byron's country house for five years. The two men have a falling out, then Lord Grey marries a country girl, Anna. And thus begins my story. I know nothing of their courtship and marriage, but hey, I'm a writer, I'll make it up!
