Out of the Fog

I have finished my busy season at work and feel like I am coming out of a fog. I am still a bit disoriented and exhausted from navigating the unseen perils.

I am trying very hard to get back into my story. I have written bits of dialog, scenes and the whole ending. I just need to keep writing and put it all together. Through the help of writing friends, I have the whole book plotted. And I still love this story.

Through everything, I still love this story. Grey and Anna are the most believable and realistic couple I have created. I know them so well and feel privileged to be writing their love story. I hope I can convey their story in the right manner to the reader. I think my love for this story has kept me on track and will help me complete this manuscript.

So, between writing challenges, moving my office, promises to myself, and reading Chinese fortune cookies, I am pressing myself to write.

So... you ask, what's with the fortune cookie? I opened one today and it said, "Any ideas seriously entertained tends to bring about the realization of itself." Even the d@mm fortune cookies are telling me to get off my duff and write.... butt in chair, fingers on keyboard, brain focused.

In similar vein, I am taking my writing to a new level. I am going to be serious about my writing. How serious? So serious that I am treating writing like a business. I am keeping receipts and am going to write off expenses on next year's taxes. I am going to go to writer's workshops. I've join another chapter of RWA and dropped one that didn't do anything for me.

Sigh... I wish I could go to Nationals, but I can't. The money woes rears it's ugly head. Between airfare, conference fees, hotels and food, I would need over one thousand dollars. I know many chapters give out scholarships for the conference fees, but how would I come up with the rest of the money?

There's always next year in San Fran. A local chapter mate and I are planning for 2008.
